BIO
Hi, I’m Charlotte Castillo, Expressionistic Colorist. I was born and raised in California. From a tender age, I always observed the world in an artistic way. I began painting when I was four years old. I loved passing time watching light dance on walls, seeing how it manipulated things. I remembered people because I saw their faces in colors and contrasts. This is still true. When I was an eighteen year old exchange student in Brazil, I learned to paint with oil on canvas. I knew I had found my passion and my favorite medium! I studied Fine Art at Sonoma State and in the summers between college sessions, I spent my time traveling between home in Lake Tahoe and consuming as much of the world’s beauty as I could. Each place inspired me and my artwork. I’m very grateful for my world travels, my learning of new languages, and exciting cultural experiences, which have all shaped me. My artistic style is vibrant, whimsical and free, like me, and my journey continues.
